President’s Introduction
Mr. René Cloutier has worked his career long in crop productions field, mainly in the cash crops area. For more than 30 years, he was chief executive officer of Semico, which he was the founder. In 2006, Synagri bought Semico but left free of any ties the research center, allowing Mr. Cloutier to take it at his charge. The research center is then renamed Nevico Research Center.
Nevico Research Center continues to develop new cultivars of cereal and soybean. The reputation of the varieties developed by Semico and Nevico is well-known. Mr. Cloutier continues his work and he remains always forward-looking by allowing a whole team of young research professionals to continue on his lead.
